Manifesto for Sustainability

We, as concerned citizens of the world, recognize the urgency of the environmental crisis facing the planet and our community. We believe that sustainable development must be the foundation of a just and equitable society which respects the natural limits of the Earth and promotes the well-being of all living beings.

We come together today with the intention of becoming HEROES who stand up for sustainability and help the Earth restore Order.

We call for action to address the climate change crisis which threatens to destabilize ecosystems, displace human populations and exacerbate inequality. We recognize the need for urgent and radical changes in energy production as well as the importance of global cooperation and support for vulnerable countries and communities.

We advocate for sustainable cities and communities which prioritize the well-being of residents and the environment. We support efforts to reduce urban sprawl, promote public transportation, cycle lanes, green spaces and walkable neighborhoods.

We recognize the importance of responsible consumption and production which encourages sustainable lifestyles, reduces waste and minimizes environmental impact. We are committed to the reduction of overconsumption and are determined to become young entrepreneurs of the future who offer eco-friendly and ethical products and services.

We strive for reduced inequality and advocate for policies that promote equal opportunities and support the protection of marginalized communities, including children, women, minorities and those who live in isolation. 

We acknowledge the importance of our seas and the need to protect life below water, especially in Mar Menor. We endorse the work of ecologist organizations and call for regional, national and international efforts to guarantee marine conservation and request an urgent solution to regenerate the lagoon ecosystem.

We recognize the urgency of preserving life on land, protecting ecosystems and promoting biodiversity. We call for action to halt deforestation, soil infertility and desertification. We champion the regeneration and repopulation of areas such as La Junquera and embrace initiatives of individuals to implement restorative techniques in agriculture and save water usage.

In summary, we believe that a sustainable and just future for all requires concerted action based on the principles of environmental protection, social equity and economic prosperity. Being aware that we are the generation that will make important decisions in the coming future, we commit to promoting these principles and doing our best to guarantee the well-being of those who inhabit the Earth after us.
